Microbiological analysis is the study of microorganisms under multiple disciplines including virology, bacteriology, parasitology and mycology.
It involves utilising a range of technologies to detect, identify and quantify microorganisms in environmental samples, such as water and soil. Typically, microbiological analysis is undertaken to monitor regulatory compliancy, manage water quality, detect diseases, monitor industrial process conditions and to assess environmental impact.
Therefore Environmental offers a wide range of microbiological analysis such as;
- Microscopy techniques ranging from x10 to 25,000 to visualise morphology for bacterial, fungal, protozoan and metazoan identification
- Pathogen Testing to identify various pathogenic microbiology including SARS-CoV-2, Legionella, Salmonella and coliforms using culture-based methods and QPCR Analysis.
- Total Viable Count (TVC) to estimate the total number of viable microbiological colonies. Can be reported as CFU/cm (2) and CFU/ml.
- Total Coliform Count (TCC) to estimate the number of bacteria belonging to a coliform group. Can be reported as CFU/cm (2) and CFU/ml.
- Activated Sludge Microscopy to examine the microbiology within a range of Activated Sludge Process samples to help assess the health and efficiency of the wastewater process.
- Mycometer testing of fungi and bacteria for surface and air quality assessment.
