Welcome to Therefore Environmental, we were founded to make scientific testing more accessible. What started as a response to opinion-based practices in the insurance industry as Davis French & Associates evolved into a mission to innovate testing across the environmental space from Wastewater to indoor workplaces focusing on safety and compliance.
Let’s introduce our executive team responsible for providing fast, reliable results:
Olivia French, Director of Operations & Environmental Services
Olivia graduated from the University of York in July 2013 with a degree in chemistry. Having specialised in analytical and forensic sciences she further achieved a Masters degree in Environmental Management in June 2017. During her studies Olivia undertook several periods of work experience within the science departments of Rotherham Hospital and the research department at the University of York.
Olivia runs our bespoke laboratory facility in Sheffield, as well as managing some of our most complex and challenging environmental claims for Davis French & Associates. Olivia oversees all our laboratory processes, carrying out custom testing related to moisture, water source, fire and chemical contamination, air quality, as well as microbiological and mould contamination. Olivia also pioneered our use of next-generation DNA analysis or metagenomics, allowing us to gain greater insight into organisms present in water, the air and on surfaces, from fungi, to bacteria and viruses. Olivia helps our customers to utilise scientific testing techniques to gain vital insight whether that’s for compliance or developments.
Jack Corden – Director of Strategy
Jack Corden joined our parent company Davis French & Associates in September 2017, previously operating within the manufacturing and construction sectors, as well as a freelance marketing operative in the retail and damage management sectors.
Jack is responsible for strategic activity, overseeing the strategic development of both Davis French & Associates and Therefore Environmental to ensure we are building strategic partnerships and developing our services to show case the best of our innovative testing techniques.
Charlotte Elliot – Laboratory Manager and Wastewater Specialist
Charlotte has worked in STEM, specifically Environmental Sciences, since 2013. During this time, she has held various positions, ranging from Apprentice Laboratory Technician to Assistant Quality Manager and Laboratory Manager. In 2024, Charlotte graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University after completing an Apprenticeship Degree in Chemical Sciences, specialising in Green Chemistry.
Charlotte has worked in a variety of laboratories, including serving as Laboratory Manager for a specialist consultancy company that provides services such as bespoke R&D, compliance testing, and pilot/bench-scale trials to the domestic and wastewater industries. As well as the Assistant Laboratory and Quality Manager for a UKAS-certified geotechnical and geoenvironmental ground investigation specialist, to deliver accredited Soil Testing Services. Charlotte’s experiences in various fields have allowed her to develop the knowledge and skills to provide technical and scientific services to our customers.
Jade Short – Sales and Marketing Manager
Jade Short is an experienced Sales and Marketing professional with a proven track record of driving growth and innovation. Since completing her Marketing apprenticeship in 2018, she has consistently delivered strategic, customer-focused solutions that add measurable value.
Now leading Sales and Marketing efforts within a cutting-edge laboratory environment, Jade plays a pivotal role in communicating the organisation’s breakthroughs in technological innovation, and rapid-turnaround testing. She works closely with internal teams to amplify their achievements and ensure clients are informed, engaged, and supported.
